This Grant is awarded to individuals or organizations seeking to defray costs, fund events, experiences or programs that broaden horizons, deepen knowledge, expand understanding, or generally improve the life and wellbeing of Norfolk children.
Named in memory of founding board member and first board president, Rod Perkins. Rod was an accomplished athlete, musician, dancer, businessman and above all, a proud native Norfolkian. He had a vision to provide local children with enrichment opportunities through and beyond those provided by local schools, institutions, or individual means, which was realized though the NCCF.
This Annual Scholarship is granted to high school seniors matriculating to colleges, universities, and accredited technical training programs and apprenticeships.
Named in honor of founding board member and second board president Don Tobias. Don was a long time resident of Norfolk, a committed educator through his career as a Speech Language Pathologist and above all a believer in our mission to help kids try.
This a one-time only award and the application must be submitted by April 28, 2025. If the student is taking a gap year or not matriculating directly to college or technical program the award may be differed up to three year from graduation.
Named in memory of founding board member and stalwart of the Norfolk community, Laverne Barbagallo. This Annual “Campership” to Camp Jewell, the YMCA summer Camp in Colebrook, allows every resident Norfolk child a free week at Camp Jewell’s day camp program.
PLEASE NOTE: Parents do not need to fill out a Grant Request Application for this award. However you must tell Camp Jewell that your child is participating though our Campership offer. We cover 1 week of day camp only. Additional weeks are the sole responsibility of the family.
If you are interested in having your child attend a different summer camp program, please fill out and return the request for the Rod Perkins Opportunity Grant. Please do so prior to paying any camp bills. We will pay the organization or institution directly and do not reimburse parents/family.
